TPC San Antonio (Oaks course)

4-PLUS: Must play course - excellent standard; worthy of 4½ stars.

Est. 2010

TPC San Antonio, a member of the Tournament Players Club network, is home to two 18-hole championship golf courses. The Pete Dye-designed Canyons course is predominantly played in a tree-lined setting north of the resort centre. The generally higher rated Oaks course, designed by Greg Norman, is laid out in two nine-hole loops to the south of the resort centre.

Home to the PGA Tour's Texas Open, the highly-rated Oaks course has a more open feel than its sibling. Plenty of golfing challenge, a well-crafted design and usually good upkeep all contribute to the appeal of this excellent Texas Hill Country course.

The tough closing stretch includes the notorious par-3 16th, with a bunker sitting in the middle of the green. The short heavily bunkered par-4 17th hands over to the good-length par-5 18th, with a tumbling creek to be avoided on your approach to the green.

Stay&Play at TPC San Antonio: luxury onsite accommodation is available in the JW Marriott hotel (see Where2Stay section below).
