Millennium Golf: It's clear a lot of money was spent on this relatively recent newcomer to Belgian golf, the rather special clubhouse, enormous golf shop and excellent two-tier driving range testify to that. However, this ever-challenging layout, with plenty of water on the back-nine, is yet to really establish its credentials and join the ranks of Belgium's top courses.
The site itself is relatively flat and open, bordered by some housing, a busy road at one point and, especially on the back-nine, a good-size lake. With a footpath/cycle path cutting through the course and dinghies often appearing on the lake, Millennium exudes a distinctly recreational and park-like atmosphere.
If water is not present, as on the opening eight holes, then copious bunkering and large and sloping greens will ensure your game is adequately tested and challenged. At the short par-4 9th water comes seriously into play, flanking a small sliver of fairway that runs around the lake. From then on water is never far away from proceedings, with more holes tightly hugging the water's edge.
This is a course that has the potential to join the elite of Belgium's modern designs; better care and presentation would help that cause.
Visitors welcome on weekdays and weekends.
Must book in advance. Maximum handicap: 36.
Players generally walk this course. Golf carts available for hire.

The course at Millennium was designed by Bruno Steensels, Belgium's top golf course designer of the current era. His other work includes two other challenging courses, which are both located closer to Brussels, namely Enghien and The National.
