Where2Golf says:

CrossCreek Golf Club: In its quiet, hideaway setting, where real estate is largely absent, CrossCreek provides a wonderfully challenging and scenic golf adventure. The early holes are among the tightest, threading their way through ancient oaks and sycamores, with Sycamore Creek often in close attendance. By contrast, from the par-4 6th onward, the front-nine moves into a much more open and rolling environment, where the well-spaced holes are threatened by occasional water hazards, not least at the par-3 8th and long par-4 9th. The stunning back-nine loop makes its way, anti-clockwise, through another area of open, rolling hills, where wonderful elevation changes provide spectacular panoramas stretching far into the distance. With firm, hard to hold fairways, rough-edged bunkers that are never easy to escape, and fast greens that slope away for tricky putts, all aspects of your game will be challenged. The signature, downhill par-3 17th marks a return to the more wooded environment, while the club's name provides the basic instruction on how to play this hole, i.e. "cross creek" and hope to hit the well-bunkered and slightly elevated green. Provided housing does not invade the wide open spaces around the course and surrounding grass covered hills, CrossCreek will remain one of southern California's most natural, dramatic and scenic golf courses, and the sound of chattering birdlife will no doubt be ever-present as you journey round.

Did you know?

Although most of the notable Temecula Valley wineries are located to the east of the city, CrossCreek is located about 6 miles to the west, in an area of rolling hills (which continue rolling a further 25 miles westward to the Pacific Ocean). These hills are home to a widely spread out community of mansion-size real estate, and many boutique, chateau-style, smaller wineries.
