Iberostar Bavaro
Iberostar Bávaro Golf Club is an inland course located just behind the oceanside Iberostar Resort complex. Designer P.B. Dye transformed a naturally flat landscape into a challenging course that incorporates undulating terrain, 105 sand bunkers, lakes and several rocky outcrops.
The lush landscaping features many trees and palms, and includes rough native grasses flanking the holes. The layout is awash with swales and mounding, as well as bunkers of every shape and size. Carved from the island’s native landscape, the course features wide fairways, as well as lakes, streams and large sand dunes on a number of holes.
Pick of the holes: As signature holes go, there is no great surprise that the island-green par-3 8th is the obvious choice on this layout. The star-shaped (Iberostar's logo) island-green is surrounded by a sea of sand.
Visitors welcome on weekdays and weekends.
Must book in advance.
