On the Shandong Peninsula, Nanshan Intl Golf Club operates 15 golf courses, clustered into five Golf Clubs (each separately covered in Where2Golf). The Clubs and their associated courses (generally 18-hole, par-72) are:
1. Nanshan Intl: located just south of Longkou is home to six courses: Nanshan Intl (A+B nines 6964 yds from back tees; C-nine 2953 yds); Buddha Light - Foguang (7194 yds); Country Manor - Zhuangyuan (6000 yds); Holy Sun - Shengdi (5883 yds); Breeze - Shanshui (6195 yds); Genting Forest - Yunding (5670 yds).
2. Danling: a private club 2.5 km east of Nanshan Intl is home to the Cuiyuan (7397 yds) and Cuigu (7125 yds) courses.
3. Donghai - East: 20 km north of Nanshan Intl is home to four courses (which variously translate as): Seaview - Sea Scene (7508 yds); Sea Charm - Sea Rhyme (7240 yds); Sea Shore - Sea Pavilion (7344 yds) and Sea Sky (7011 yds).
4. Donghai - West: a private club next to Donghai East is home to the Montgomerie (7508 yds) and Pine Forest - Songtao (7202 yds) courses.
5. Mashanzhai GC: 100 km east of Nanshan Intl is home to the Ian Woosnam-designed Mashanzhai course (7000+ yds).

Located just south of Longkou, Nanshan International is home to six well-rated and always popular golf courses: Nanshan International (27-holes); Buddha Light (Foguang); Country Manor (Zhuangyuan); Holy Sun (Shengdi); Breeze (Shanshui) and Genting Forest (Yunding). These predominantly tree-lined and open parkland layouts will not disappoint, with many attractive features and several excellent holes to enjoy. Definitely a Stay & Play venue to include on your itinerary if you are in the area.

Sony Open in Hawaii: played at Waialae Country Club near Honolulu, the Sony Open takes over the spotlight from The Sentry as the PGA Tour’s calendar-year opening event (Jan 15-18). The Sentry (not being played in 2026) was formerly known as the Tournament of Champions, with a field typically restricted to golfers who won a PGA Tour event in the previous calendar year.
Dubai Desert Classic: the DP World Tour’s first Rolex Series event of 2026, is contested for the 37th time (Jan 22-25). First won by Englishman Mark James in 1989, it now boasts a four-time winner, Rory McIlroy. Played on the Emirates Golf Club’s Majlis course, this once desert-surrounded course is the long-time flagship for Golf in Dubai.
Our visit last month included two rounds at Golf de Chantilly, one of France’s most prestigious clubs.
It offers two superb layouts: Le Vineuil, a five-star championship course with a rich history, and Longères, an excellent four-star course that provides a strong and enjoyable test.
The wider Paris region offers plenty more. Courses such as Fontainebleau, Golf de Saint-Germain, and several other top-rated layouts make this area one of Europe’s most rewarding golf destinations, offering a mix of woodland, heathland, and parkland designs.

Here at Prince’s Golf Club you'll find 27 excellent holes of links golf. Just over the fence and sharing similar terrain is Royal St George’s; but Prince’s is far from overshadowed by its venerable neighbour. The three nine-hole loops at Prince's, laid out over gently undulating terrain, are sure to bring a smile of satisfaction to all lovers of links golf.
