Old Town Club

Private: A course for members and their invited guests only.

Est. 1939

Old Town Club: It was in 1938 that Charlie and Mary Reynolds Babcock, scions of the Reynolds Tobacco family, set out to establish a private golf club next to their homestead. Renowned golf course architect Perry Maxwell was commissioned to craft the layout, which to this day exudes an open linksy feel, with its expansive fairways, meandering Silas Creek, and uneven undulating terrain.

The sweeping cross-course vistas at Old Town Club are punctuated by artistic bunkering and bold green contours, widely known for their trademark “Maxwell rolls.” Exclusively for the use of members and their invited guests, this private club is located a stone's throw to the south of the Wake Forest University campus, a few miles north of Winston-Salem. The Club serves as the University's official home course.
