Clubhouse is located in Sweetbriar Lane just west of Sheringham town centre on the A149 coastal road (Weybourne Road).
Sheringham Golf Club: Perched on a scenic stretch of cliffs on the Norfolk coast, Sheringham offers wonderful views onto the chilly North Sea, while providing a naturally open environment for an energising and absorbing round of golf.
After a relatively pedestrian start on this out-and-back layout, the course gets into its clifftop stride at the uphill par-4 3rd. The next four holes wander alongside the cliffs for a breathtakingly scenic middle section on the outward nine. The view from the 5th tee is one of the most memorable to be found on an English golf course.
Much of the back-nine occupies slightly flatter terrain, where gorse bushes become the main danger. On the final stretch you play alongside the North Norfolk Railway line, and as with the opening stretch, the dangers for slicers are all to obvious.
Visitors welcome on weekdays and Sundays; no outside visitors on Saturdays.
Must book in advance. Proof of handicap may be requested.

Set on the cliffs in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB), Sheringham has been the venue for three English Ladies' Championships. It was at Sheringham that Miss Joyce Wethered, the leading British woman golfer of the 1920s and 30s, and later to become Lady Heathcote-Amory, won her first championship at the age of 18.

Women’s (British) Open: the last women’s major championship of the season is hosted by Royal Porthcawl GC. It’s the first time this fabulous seaside links course has hosted the event (July 31-Aug 3).
Walker Cup: the 50th playing of this prestigious men’s amateur event sees the GB&I go head-to-head against the defending USA team at Cypress Point Club, California (Sept 6-7). After that, all eyes turn to Bethpage State Park on Long Island, NY, where the American and defending European professional teams engage in the 45th Ryder Cup (Sept 27-29).
Lottie Woad: 21-year-old Woad burst onto the professional scene in July, with wins in the Women’s Irish Open (as an amateur) and three weeks later in the Women’s Scottish Open (as a professional). She nearly picked-up a major championship, placing third in The Evian in the same month.
Pádraig Harrington: the ever-likeable Irishman added the (British) Senior Open Championship title to his stellar array of tournament successes. His win came on Sunningdale’s spectacular Old Course. Harrington had already bagged the U.S. Senior Open title in June this year.
