Manor House (Castle Combe)
The Manor House Golf Club: Messrs Alliss and Clark needed all their skill and imagination to conjure up a playable 18-hole golf course in this beautiful and dramatically undulating woodland setting. This they did, but unavoidable are demanding climbs and long walks between some greens and tees.
Good bunkering and landscaping has enhanced the more open parts of this layout, while the babbling River Bybrook winds its way around and about, not least in front of the plunging par-3 11th and the spectacular abyss-like par-3 17th. An excellent stay and play venue, but one where carrying your bag or pulling a trolley is definitely only for the fit and healthy.
Stay&Play at Manor House: luxury onsite accommodation available, see Where2Stay section below.
Visitors welcome year round on weekdays and weekends.
Must book in advance. Handicap required.
Walking permitted. Golf carts, pull trolleys and power trollies available for hire (and recommended for this quite hilly course).
