Where2Golf says:

The Players Club: An ambitious, exciting and (once you get to know it) rewarding course, very much in the modern parkland genre. Much of the course occupies gently undulating and relatively open terrain, where an abundance of water hazards need to be carefully negotiated and good-quality bunkering, particularly greenside, also requires your attention. Although recent tree-planting on sections of the course has yet to develop, the occasional presence of gorse bushes, proximity of older woodland and pleasant views onto partly wooded rural countryside, gives the course a more mature feel beyond its actual years. The greens are excellent, often large and full of inventive slopes and run-offs - at the 9th for example, the putting surface is a mere 54 yards wide, but only 35 deep ! Greens are not the only "stretch" factor here. How many professionals have reached the 696-yard par-5 8th in two ! The par-3's are excellent, with water dangerously in play on all four of them. Although some of the driving lines are not as clear as you'd want them, especially on a first outing, this is a course that grows on you the more you play it - fair but challenging. You'll need plenty of nerve and a great golf game if you try it off the tips - a total of 7617 yards (the UK's longest course !?).
