West Surrey Golf Club: Improvements to greens and tees in 2002/03 have lifted the standard (and length) of this very pleasant and testing parkland course in its beautifully peaceful setting. The terrain is gently undulating and the trees ever-present, although most of the time you will not feel to crowded by them - lots of opportunity to get the driver swinging, especially on the first few holes where there are some long and testing par-4's.
Also noteworthy is the delightful par-4 8th, with an elevated green encircled by a bunker, and excellent refreshments at the (not quite) half-way cabin. With a changing feel which blends woodland with some more heathland attributes, the course builds to a wonderful finale at the valley-like par-4 17th and the spectacular downhill par-5 18th, finishing in front of the horse-shoe shaped clubhouse.
Visitors welcome on weekdays and weekends.
Must book in advance. Handicap required.
Players generally walk this course. Golf carts available for hire (advisable to book in advance).
