Played as LIV Golf Greenbrier (Aug 16-18; 54-hole 48-player no-cut individual event, and accompanying 4-player team event). [Old White TPC course, Greenbrier GC, White Sulphur Springs, WV].
Individual event: Brooks Koepka (USA) beat Jon Rahm (Esp) with a par at the first playoff hole (par-3 18th), to claim a record fifth individual LIV Golf win.
Team event: second-placed Ripper team (-50; Marc Leishman, Cameron Smith, Lucas Herbert & Matt Jones) finished 3 shots behind the winning Smash team (-53; Brooks Koepka, Talor Gooch, Jason Kokrak & reserve player John Catlin), who shared the $3 million team first prize.
Note: the twelfth of fourteen 2024 LIV Golf League events run by Greg Norman's Saudi Arabian-bankrolled LIV Golf company.

Played as the inaugural LIV Golf Greenbrier (Aug 4-6; 54-hole 48-player no-cut individual event, and accompanying 4-player team event). [Old White TPC course, Greenbrier GC, White Sulphur Springs, WV]. Individual event: Second-placed Mito Pereira (Chile) finished 6 shots behind Bryson DeChambeau (USA), who pocketed the $4 million first prize. On the par-70 Old White TPC course, DeChambeau shot 61 (-9) in his second round and 58 (-12) in the third.
Team event: second-placed Crushers team (Bryson DeChambeau, Anirban Lahiri, Paul Casey & Charles Howell III) finished 1 shot behind the Torque team (Joaquín Niemann, Sebastián Muñoz, Mito Pereira & David Puig), who shared the $3 million team first prize.

Presidents Cup: Geoff Ogilvy’s International Team take on Brandt Snedeker’s USA Team at the revered Medinah Country Club, near Chicago. The Internationals are trying to halt a run of 11 consecutive American wins. (Sept 24-27).
French Open: Continental Europe’s oldest national championship, dating from 1906, is once again staged on the Albatros Course at Le Golf National, near Paris. Defending champion is America’s Michael Kim. (Sept 24-27).
Our visit last month included two rounds at Golf de Chantilly, one of France’s most prestigious clubs.
It offers two superb layouts: Le Vineuil, a five-star championship course with a rich history, and Longères, an excellent four-star course that provides a strong and enjoyable test.

Here at Prince’s Golf Club you'll find 27 excellent holes of links golf. Just over the fence and sharing similar terrain is Royal St George’s; but Prince’s is far from overshadowed by its venerable neighbour.
