LIV Golf
Played as the LIV Golf Team Championship Michigan (Aug 22-24; LIV Golf season-ending 4-player team event). [Cardinal course, St John's Resort, Plymouth, Michigan].
Winners: Legion XIII team (260, -20; Jon Rahm, Tyrrell Hatton, Caleb Surratt & Tom McKibbin), following a playoff against Crushers. Legion XIII took the team prize of $14 million.
Runners-up: Crushers team (260, -20; Bryson DeChambeau, Charles Howell III, Anirban Lahiri & Paul Casey), who collected a team prize of $8 million.
Playoff: Legion XIII (13, -3) beat Crushers (15, -1) in a two-hole playoff (par-4 18th played twice); Rahm & Hatton were pitted against DeChambeau & Casey.

Winners: Ripper Team (277, -11; Cameron Smith, Lucas Herbert, Matt Jones, Marc Leishman), who won the team prize of $14 million.
Runners-up: 4Aces team (280, -8; Dustin Johnson, Patrick Reed, Pat Perez, Harold Varner III) and Iron Heads team (280, -8; Kevin Na, Danny Lee, Scott Vincent, Jinichiro Kozuma); both teams received $7 million.

Second-placed RangeGoats team (279, -9; Bubba Watson, Talor Gooch, Harold Varner III & Thomas Pieters) finished 2 shots behind winning Crushers Team (277, -11; Anirban Lahiri, Bryson DeChambeau, Charles Howell III & Paul Casey). In this Saudi-funded event, the Crushers Team members each pocketed $1.4 million, with a further $8.4 million going to the Crushers team as an independent entity.

Played as the inaugural LIV Golf Invitational Series (Team Championship) (Oct 27-30; LIV Golf season-ending 4-player team event). Second-placed Punch Team (Cameron Smith, Matt Jones, Wade Ormsby & Marc Leishman) finished 1 shot behind winning 4 Aces Team (Dustin Johnson, Pat Perez, Patrick Reed & Talor Gooch). In this Saudi-funded mega-money event, the 4 Aces team members each pocketed $4 million; the runners-up each took away $3.125 million. [Blue Monster course, Trump Natl Doral Resort, Miami, FL].

Sony Open in Hawaii: played at Waialae Country Club near Honolulu, the Sony Open takes over the spotlight from The Sentry as the PGA Tour’s calendar-year opening event (Jan 15-18). The Sentry (not being played in 2026) was formerly known as the Tournament of Champions, with a field typically restricted to golfers who won a PGA Tour event in the previous calendar year.
Dubai Desert Classic: the DP World Tour’s first Rolex Series event of 2026, is contested for the 37th time (Jan 22-25). First won by Englishman Mark James in 1989, it now boasts a four-time winner, Rory McIlroy. Played on the Emirates Golf Club’s Majlis course, this once desert-surrounded course is the long-time flagship for Golf in Dubai.
Our visit last month included two rounds at Golf de Chantilly, one of France’s most prestigious clubs.
It offers two superb layouts: Le Vineuil, a five-star championship course with a rich history, and Longères, an excellent four-star course that provides a strong and enjoyable test.
The wider Paris region offers plenty more. Courses such as Fontainebleau, Golf de Saint-Germain, and several other top-rated layouts make this area one of Europe’s most rewarding golf destinations, offering a mix of woodland, heathland, and parkland designs.

Here at Prince’s Golf Club you'll find 27 excellent holes of links golf. Just over the fence and sharing similar terrain is Royal St George’s; but Prince’s is far from overshadowed by its venerable neighbour.
