Individual event: Joaquín Niemann (Chile), Cameron Smith (Aus) and Tyrrell Hatton (Eng) finished 1 shot behind Jon Rahm (Esp).
Team winners: Legion XIII (-26; Jon Rahm, Tyrrell Hatton, Kieran Vincent & Caleb Surratt). Runners-up: Ripper team (-23; Cameron Smith, Lucas Herbert, Matt Jones & Marc Leishman). Legion XIII took home the $3 million team first prize.

Individual event: second-placed Marc Leishman (Aus) and Patrick Reed (USA) finished 1 shot behind Cameron Smith (Aus), who pocketed the $4 million first prize.
Team event: second-placed Ripper team (-33; Cameron Smith, Marc Leishman, Matt Jones & Jediah "Jed" Morgan) finished 1 shot behind the Four Aces team (-34; Dustin Johnson, Patrick Reed, Pat Perez & Peter Uihlein), who shared the $3 million team first prize.

Played as the inaugural LIV Golf Invitational Series (London) (June 9-11; 54-hole 48-player no-cut individual event, and accompanying four-player team event). [Centurion Club, Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire].
Individual event: Second-placed Hennie Du Plessis (RSA) finished 1 shot behind Charl Schwartzel (RSA). World ranked No.126 Schwartzel scooped the $4 million first prize and world No.133 Du Plessis the $2,125,000 second prize ... vast payouts for a rather modest field!
Team event: second-placed Crushers team (Peter Uihlein, Richard Bland, Phachara Khongwatmai & Travis Smyth) finished 14 shots behind the Stingers (Louis Oosthuizen, Hennie Du Plessis, Charl Schwartzel & Branden Grace), who shared the $3 million team first prize.
Note: the first of eight 2022 "Invitational Series" events run by Greg Norman's Saudi Arabian-bankrolled LIV Golf company ... a rival series of events to those staged by the world's established men's golf tours. LIV are the roman numerals for 54, the number of holes in each LIV Golf event).
Women’s (British) Open: the last women’s major championship of the season is hosted by Royal Porthcawl GC. It’s the first time this fabulous seaside links course has hosted the event (July 31-Aug 3).
Walker Cup: the 50th playing of this prestigious men’s amateur event sees the GB&I go head-to-head against the defending USA team at Cypress Point Club, California (Sept 6-7). After that, all eyes turn to Bethpage State Park on Long Island, NY, where the American and defending European professional teams engage in the 45th Ryder Cup (Sept 27-29).
Lottie Woad: 21-year-old Woad burst onto the professional scene in July, with wins in the Women’s Irish Open (as an amateur) and three weeks later in the Women’s Scottish Open (as a professional). She nearly picked-up a major championship, placing third in The Evian in the same month.
Pádraig Harrington: the ever-likeable Irishman added the (British) Senior Open Championship title to his stellar array of tournament successes. His win came on Sunningdale’s spectacular Old Course. Harrington had already bagged the U.S. Senior Open title in June this year.
