Played as the ISPS Handa World Super 6 Perth (Feb 14-17; Aus/Asian/Eurpn Trs event; after three rounds of strokeplay, the top 24 went into knockout matches on the final day; each match played over 6 holes). 32-year-old Ryan Fox (NZ) beat Adrian Otaegui (Esp) 3 and 2 in the 6-hole final, to record his first European Tour win. Played as the ISPS Handa World Super 6 Perth (Feb 8-11; Aus/Asian/Eurpn Trs event; after three rounds of strokeplay, the top 24 went into knockout matches on the final day; each match played over over 6 holes). Kiradech Aphibarnrat (Thai) beat James Nitties (Aus) 2 and 1 in the 6-hole final. A nine-man playoff followed round three of the strokeplay, to determine who would fill the last eight berths in Sunday's match play finale. Aphibarnrat beat Anthony Quayle (Aus) with a birdie at the fourth playoff hole to claim the very last of the eight spots. [Lake Karrinyup CC, Perth, WA, Aus].

Brett Rumford (Aus) beat Pachara Khongwatmai (Thai) 2 and 1 in the 6-hole final. Rumford also led the field by 5 shots after the three rounds of stroke play. [Lake Karrinyup CC, Perth, WA, Aus].

Played as the inaugural ISPS Handa Perth International Championship (Oct 18-21; Eurpn/Aus Trs event). Second-placed Jason Dufner (USA) finished 2 shots behind 37-year-old Bo Van Pelt (USA), who recorded his first European Tour win. [Lake Karrinyup GC, Perth, Aus].
Women’s (British) Open: the last women’s major championship of the season is hosted by Royal Porthcawl GC. It’s the first time this fabulous seaside links course has hosted the event (July 31-Aug 3).
Walker Cup: the 50th playing of this prestigious men’s amateur event sees the GB&I go head-to-head against the defending USA team at Cypress Point Club, California (Sept 6-7). After that, all eyes turn to Bethpage State Park on Long Island, NY, where the American and defending European professional teams engage in the 45th Ryder Cup (Sept 27-29).
Lottie Woad: 21-year-old Woad burst onto the professional scene in July, with wins in the Women’s Irish Open (as an amateur) and three weeks later in the Women’s Scottish Open (as a professional). She nearly picked-up a major championship, placing third in The Evian in the same month.
Pádraig Harrington: the ever-likeable Irishman added the (British) Senior Open Championship title to his stellar array of tournament successes. His win came on Sunningdale’s spectacular Old Course. Harrington had already bagged the U.S. Senior Open title in June this year.
