Played as the Barclays Singapore Open (Nov 8-11; Asian/Eurpn Trs event; for the last time until 2016). Manassero (Italy) beat Louis Oosthuizen (RSA) at the third playoff hole. Rory McIlroy's third place finish allowed him to win the European Tour's season-long Race to Dubai (Order of Merit). [Serapong course, Sentosa GC, Singapore].

Played as the Maybank Malaysian Open (50th) (April 14-17; Asian/Eurpn Trs event). Second-placed Grégory Bourdy (Fra) finished 1 shot behind 17-year-old Manassero (Italy), who recorded his second European Tour win. [West course, TPC Kuala Lumpur, KL, Malaysia; at the time known as Kuala Lumpur G&CC].

Played as the Castello Masters Costa Azahar (Oct 21-24). Second-placed Ignacio Garrido (Esp) finished 4 shots behind Manassero (Italy), who became the youngest ever winner of a European Tour event, aged 17 yrs 188 days. [GC Mediterraneo, Castellon, Spain].

Manassero (Italy) won the European Tour 2010 Sir Henry Cotton Rookie of the Year Award as the leading first-season player (determined by a panel representing the Tour, the R&A and Assoc of Golf Writers). Manassero finished 31st on the Tour's Order of Merit, with earnings of €890,402.

The Amateur Championship (114th). Manassero (Italy) beat Sam Hutsby (Eng) 4 and 3 in the 36-hole final. At 16 years and 2 months, Manassero, from Verona, became the youngest ever Amateur Championship winner. [Formby GC, Formby, Merseyside].
Sony Open in Hawaii: played at Waialae Country Club near Honolulu, the Sony Open takes over the spotlight from The Sentry as the PGA Tour’s calendar-year opening event (Jan 15-18). The Sentry (not being played in 2026) was formerly known as the Tournament of Champions, with a field typically restricted to golfers who won a PGA Tour event in the previous calendar year.
Dubai Desert Classic: the DP World Tour’s first Rolex Series event of 2026, is contested for the 37th time (Jan 22-25). First won by Englishman Mark James in 1989, it now boasts a four-time winner, Rory McIlroy. Played on the Emirates Golf Club’s Majlis course, this once desert-surrounded course is the long-time flagship for Golf in Dubai.
