The Amateur Championship (126th) (June 14-19). 23-year-old Laird Shepherd (Eng) beat 25-year-old Monty Scowsill (Eng) in the 36-hole final. In an extraordinary turnaround, Shepherd clawed his way back from what looked like the possibility of a record defeat.
