Note: Dustin Johnson joined Arnold Palmer (1967), Gardner Dickinson (1967), Larry Nelson (1979) and Francesco Molinari (2018) as one of only five golfers to score a perfect 5-0-0 in a single Ryder Cup.

The US PGA Championship (97th) (Aug 13-16 ). Second-placed Jordan Spieth (USA) finished 3 shots behind 27-year-old Day (Aus), who claimed his first major championship win after three second place finishes in the Majors. [Straits Course, Whistling Straits, Kohler, Wisconsin].

The US PGA Championship (92nd) (Aug 12-15). First-time major championship winner Kaymer (Ger) beat Bubba Watson (USA) in a three-hole playoff: Kaymer 11 (E), Watson 12 (+1). Dustin Johnson (USA) just missed out on the playoff after incurring a two-shot penalty for grounding his club in a bunker on the final hole. Johnson, who had a one-shot lead at the time, didn't realise the "sand scrape" was deemed to be part of a bunker. [Straits course, Whistling Straits, Sheboygan, Wisconsin].

The US Senior Open (July 5-8). Second-placed Ben Crenshaw (USA) finished 3 shots behind Bryant (USA), who recorded his first major championship win. [Straits course, Whistling Straits, Sheboygan, Wisconsin].

The US PGA Championship (86th) (Aug 12-15). Singh (Fiji) beat Chris DiMarco (USA) and Justin Leonard (USA) in a three-hole playoff: Singh 10 (-1); DiMarco and Leonard both made par at the opening two playoff holes, but did not finish the third playoff hole (par-4 18th). [Straits course, Whistling Straits, Sheboygan, Wisconsin].
Sony Open in Hawaii: played at Waialae Country Club near Honolulu, the Sony Open takes over the spotlight from The Sentry as the PGA Tour’s calendar-year opening event (Jan 15-18). The Sentry (not being played in 2026) was formerly known as the Tournament of Champions, with a field typically restricted to golfers who won a PGA Tour event in the previous calendar year.
Dubai Desert Classic: the DP World Tour’s first Rolex Series event of 2026, is contested for the 37th time (Jan 22-25). First won by Englishman Mark James in 1989, it now boasts a four-time winner, Rory McIlroy. Played on the Emirates Golf Club’s Majlis course, this once desert-surrounded course is the long-time flagship for Golf in Dubai.
