The Curtis Cup (4th). USA vs Gt Britain & Ireland. Eight top women amateurs per team competing in three foursomes and six singles. Result: USA 5.5, GB&I 3.5. Non-playing captains: Frances Stebbins (USA); Margaret Wallace-Williamson (Scot/GB&I). [Essex County Club, Manchester, MA]. Played for the last time until 1948 due to WWII.

Kathryn Hemphill (USA) and Phyllis Wade (Eng) did not play in the singles. Both teams comprised a non-playing captain and seven players.

Non-playing captains: John Beck (Eng/GB&I); Francis Ouimet (USA). [The Old Course, St Andrews, Fife]. Played for the last time until 1947 due to WWII.
SATURDAY SINGLES (eight 36-hole matches; home player stated first): Jimmy Bruen (Ire) lost to Charlie Yates 2&1; Hector Thomson (Scot) bt Johnny Goodman 6&4; Leonard Crawley (Eng) lost to Johnny Fischer 3&2; Charles Stowe (Eng) bt Chuck Kocsis 2&1; Frank Pennink (Eng) lost to Marvin H. "Bud" Ward 12&11; Cecil Ewing (Ire) bt Raymond Billows 1 hole; Gordon Peters (Scot) bt Reynolds Smith 9&8; Alex Kyle (Scot) bt Freddie Haas Jr 5&4.
Harry Bentley (Eng) was not involved in the singles. John Beck (GB capt, eligible to play) did not select himself for any of the matches. The USA sent an eight-man rather than ten-man team.
NOTE: An unexpected win for GB, coming after some fearful hammerings in the previous five Walker Cups. Young Irish sensation Jimmy Bruen helped inspire the team.
Chevron Championship: Carlton Woods near Houston in Texas provides the stage for the first women’s major championship of 2025, where Nelly Korda defends her title. (April 24-27).
Soudal Open: successor to the Belgian Open, the Soudal Open takes place on the quiet, wooded North course of Rinkven Golfclub. Belgian stars Thomas Pieters and Nicolas Colsaerts will be vying for top honours. (May 22-25).
Rory McIlroy: with his 2025 win in The Masters, Rory joined the pantheon of golfing greats who have achieved a career Grand Slam of men’s majors ... Gene Sarazen, Ben Hogan, Gary Player, Jack Nicklaus and Tiger Woods are the only others in this select band.
Bernhard Langer: he may have played in his last Masters Tournament, but the 67-year-old German will be trying to extend his own record, and win a 13th senior major title at the 36th Regions Tradition. (May 15-18).
Marco Simone Golf & Country Club: With a clubhouse that might befit a Roman Emperor, and a golf course to match, you can be sure of a memorable outing at Rome's most talked about golf facility.
Jim Fazio's original layout was much changed to create a modern Ryder Cup course ... now one of the Eternal City's (and Italy's) most revered.
Here at Prince’s Golf Club you'll find 27 excellent holes of links golf.
