Played as the T-Mobile Match Play presented by MGM Rewards (April 2-6). Madelene Sagstrom (Swe) beat Lauren Coughlin 1 up in the 18-hole final, to record her second LPGA Tour win. [Shadow Creek, Las Vegas, NV].
Format: the 64-player field was divided into 16 groups of four, competing in three days of round-robin matches. After day 3 the top 16 progressed to the knockout stages for final two days.

Played as the T-Mobile Match Play presented by MGM Resorts (April 3-7; formerly the Bank of Hope LPGA Match-Play). Nelly Korda (USA) beat Leona Maguire (Ire) 4 and 3 in the 18-hole final. This was Korda's fourth win in as many starts on the LPGA Tour, a feat last achieved by Lorena Ochoa in 2008. [Shadow Creek, Las Vegas, NV].
Format: 96-player field. Three days of strokeplay with a cut after day 2. After day 3 the top eight progress to the knockout stages for final two days.

Played as the Bank of Hope LPGA Match-Play hosted by MGM Rewards (May 24-28; three days of round-robin in 16 groups of four players; 16 players progress to the knockout stage in final two days). Pajaree Anannarukarn (Thai) beat Ayaka Furue (Jpn) 3 and 1 in the 18-hole final, to record her second LPGA Tour win. [Shadow Creek, Las Vegas, NV].

Played as the inaugural Bank of Hope LPGA Match-Play hosted by Shadow Creek (May 26-30; three days of round-robin in 16 groups of four players; 16 players progress to the knockout stage in final two days). Ally Ewing (USA; née McDonald) beat Sophia Popov (Ger) 2 and 1 in the 18-hole final, to record her second LPGA Tour win. [Shadow Creek, Las Vegas, NV].
Women’s (British) Open: the last women’s major championship of the season is hosted by Royal Porthcawl GC. It’s the first time this fabulous seaside links course has hosted the event (July 31-Aug 3).
Walker Cup: the 50th playing of this prestigious men’s amateur event sees the GB&I go head-to-head against the defending USA team at Cypress Point Club, California (Sept 6-7). After that, all eyes turn to Bethpage State Park on Long Island, NY, where the American and defending European professional teams engage in the 45th Ryder Cup (Sept 27-29).
Lottie Woad: 21-year-old Woad burst onto the professional scene in July, with wins in the Women’s Irish Open (as an amateur) and three weeks later in the Women’s Scottish Open (as a professional). She nearly picked-up a major championship, placing third in The Evian in the same month.
Pádraig Harrington: the ever-likeable Irishman added the (British) Senior Open Championship title to his stellar array of tournament successes. His win came on Sunningdale’s spectacular Old Course. Harrington had already bagged the U.S. Senior Open title in June this year.
