Played as the ISPS Handa World Invitational presented by AVIV Clinics (Aug 17-20; simultaneous playing of a European Tour event and LET/LPGA Tour event). LPGA Tour rookie Alexa Pano (USA) beat Gabriella Cowley (Eng) with a birdie at the third playoff hole (par-5 18th). Esther Henseleit (Ger) was eliminated at the first playoff hole. Celebrating her 19th birthday on the event's final day, Pano recorded her first LPGA Tour win (after 20 starts on the Tour) and first Ladies European Tour win. [Galgorm Castle GC, Ballymena, Co. Antrim, N. Ireland; early rounds also played on Mussenden course, Castlerock GC, Co. Londonderry].

Second-placed Allisen Corpuz (USA) finished 5 shots behind Maja Stark (Swe), who recorded her fifth Ladies European Tour win. [Galgorm Castle GC (par-73), Ballymena, Co. Antrim, N. Ireland; first two rounds also played at Massereene GC (par-72), Antrim, Co. Antrim].

Golf Management (Jul 29-Aug 1; simultaneous playing of a European Tour event and LET/LPGA Tour event). 22-year-old Pajaree Anannarukarn (Thai) beat Emma Talley (USA) with a par at the second playoff hole (par-5 18th), to record her first win as a professional. This was Anannarukarn's 47th start on the LPGA Tour. [Galgorm Castle GC (par-73), Ballymena, Co. Antrim, N. Ireland; first two rounds also played at Massereene GC (par-72), Antrim, Co. Antrim].

Played as the inaugural ISPS Handa World Invitational Men & Women presented by Modest! Golf Management (Aug 15-18; simultaneous playing of a European Challenge Tour event and unofficial Ladies European Tour event). In the women's event, second-placed Charley Hull (Eng) finished 1 shot behind Stephanie Meadow (N.Ire). Jack Senior (Eng) won the men's event. [Galgorm Castle GC, Ballymena, Co. Antrim, N. Ireland; early rounds also played at Massereene GC, Antrim, Co. Antrim].
Women’s (British) Open: the last women’s major championship of the season is hosted by Royal Porthcawl GC. It’s the first time this fabulous seaside links course has hosted the event (July 31-Aug 3).
Walker Cup: the 50th playing of this prestigious men’s amateur event sees the GB&I go head-to-head against the defending USA team at Cypress Point Club, California (Sept 6-7). After that, all eyes turn to Bethpage State Park on Long Island, NY, where the American and defending European professional teams engage in the 45th Ryder Cup (Sept 27-29).
Lottie Woad: 21-year-old Woad burst onto the professional scene in July, with wins in the Women’s Irish Open (as an amateur) and three weeks later in the Women’s Scottish Open (as a professional). She nearly picked-up a major championship, placing third in The Evian in the same month.
Pádraig Harrington: the ever-likeable Irishman added the (British) Senior Open Championship title to his stellar array of tournament successes. His win came on Sunningdale’s spectacular Old Course. Harrington had already bagged the U.S. Senior Open title in June this year.
