Kalhaar B&G
Kalhaar Blues & Greens Golf Club, located near Ahmedabad in India, is home to a highly-rated open parkland layout. Spread over 175 acres and playing to 7,425 yards from the tips, Kalhaar Blues & Greens is one of the longest championship courses in India. With some lengthy hikes between greens and the next tee, the course was designed to be ridden around rather than walked.
Laid out by Nicklaus Design as part of an up-market residential development, many fairways wander past the good-sized back gardens of the properties. The separation between the holes and the housing, especially where the homes line both side of some holes, is further enhanced by several small lakes and ponds. These water hazards threaten on well over half the holes.
Pick of the holes: the short par-3 7th sets up as an island green but the putting surface actually sits out on a peninsula, with room beyond it for those wishing to play safe and long. A greenside bunker to the left may spare any blushes by catching pulled tee shots before they find a watery resting place.
