Dundrum House Hotel Golf & Leisure Resort

4-star: Above average course - well worth a visit.

Est. 1994

Dundrum House Hotel Golf & Leisure Resort provides a splendidly rural setting for another of Ireland's recent country estate parkland golf developments. Previously known as County Tipperary, the course is well designed by Ryder Cup star Philip Walton.

The trout-filled burn (the Multeen River) comes into play on a few holes, and there is an excellent loop that runs up and through a small wood at the 11th, 12th and 13th. Dundrum House (much added to in recent years) is in view from many parts of the course.

From the blue tees the course stretches out to a challenging 7056 yards, and with good quality maintenance, this is certainly a good addition to Ireland's recent collection of relatively open parkland layouts. If you are crossing Ireland from Dublin to the south-west, this course and Adare are two of the best golfing options en route.
