Where2Golf says:

Mount Juliet Golf Club: This immaculately maintained and very well laid-out parkland course on the Mount Juliet estate, has established itself as a premier golfing venue for professionals and leisure golfers alike. The Jack Nicklaus designed par-72, 7,300 yard layout boasts rolling fairways, many water hazards and contoured greens, all expertly blended into the picturesque setting of this famous old Irish estate.

Feature holes abound on the course, but among the most memorable are the par-3 3rd, played from an elevated tee to a green guarded by a natural stream and lake. The par-4 18th is another challenging gem, played in open terrain, but with water all down the left side, and a narrow approach to the green.

The beautiful Mount Juliet Luxury Hotel, with its excellent facilities, ensures that its not just golfers who are thoroughly spoilt at this 5-star location in the rural south of Ireland.

The American Express formerly known as the Desert Classic, and for many years played as the Bob Hope Desert Classic, will once again be decided on the Pete Dye designed Stadium course at PGA West (Jan 16-19).
The Players Championship:  for the 39th time, TPC Sawgrass, another iconic Pete Dye design, will host The Players Championship for one of the richest first prizes in world golf (March 12-15).

Who's Who:
Pete Dye:  one of the greatest golf course architects of this or any generation passes away aged 94. His contribution to golf course design, and the legacy he leaves is immense.
Jack Nicklaus:  like Pete Dye a native of Ohio, actually started his golf course design career working together with Dye. In 1967 Dye asked Nicklaus to input to his design for The Golf Club in Columbus, Ohio. Two years later they worked together on the revered Harbour Town Golf Links in South Carolina.
