Where2Golf says:

Portsalon Golf Club: County Donegal is one of Ireland's quieter corners, where unforgettable links golf courses combine with spectacular mountain scenery and breathtaking sea views. Recent improvements to the layout of Portsalon have catapulted it into the top league of these courses - both in terms of scenery and the playing quality of the holes. Several former idiosyncratic and criss-crossing holes have now gone, and an excellent, yet still timeless links layout has resulted. The improvements have straightened things out and created a more uniform and stronger course, without diminishing its inherent challenges. With the majority of the course played through an impressive area of sand dunes next to the ocean, you are assured of a thorough examination of your overall game - there are times when long and straight is the essential requirement from the tee. The tranquillity of the environment here is only interrupted by the wind (and occasional gales) that blow through, and on sunny summer days the sounds of playful youngsters on the beach. With stunning views onto Ballymacstocker Bay and Lough Swilly make sure you have your camera at the ready.
