From the N11 (20 km south of Dublin) take the R117 to Enniskerry. In Enniskerry turn left onto the R760. After o.4 km turn right into Powerscourt Estate and follow signs to golf.
Powerscourt Golf Club (East course): In scenery reminiscent of the Perthshire Hills that surround Gleneagles in Scotland, the Powerscourt Estate is home to 36-holes of excellent golf. The East course, like the West, combines a fine mix of undulating holes in a relatively open, and occasionally wooded landscape.
The layout includes copious bunkering, which lends clear definition to the good-width fairways. For those really wayward shots, thick grassy rough awaits. The well-defended greens run fast and true.
Scenic views onto the surrounding Wicklow Hills, the pointed-peak of Sugarloaf Mountain, a glimpse or two of the Irish Sea and the tranquility of the famous Powerscourt Estate all combine to ensure a thoroughly enjoyable setting, whichever of the two courses you play.
