Where2Golf says:

Lake Las Vegas Resort (The Falls course): GOLF COURSE WAS CLOSED IN 2009, probably on a permanent basis. Parts of the dormant course now being built over with housing. Check for current status before planning a visit. Lake Las Vegas's public access Reflection Bay Golf Club and private South Shore are open for play.

[Original Where2Golf description]: A panoramic view of downtown Las Vegas and the Spring Mountains beyond, greets you at the 1st tee of this wonderfully scenic golf course. Whereas Lake Las Vegas's Reflection Bay course gets you right alongside the lake, The Falls takes you on two nine-hole loops through the desert, with the stunning back-nine providing many spectacular views.

Best of all is an immensely scenic and innovatively created stretch that starts as you climb the par-5 12th. With spectacular panoramas, fabulous elevation changes and natural desert terrain all around, the wonderfully tight dog-legging par-4 13th requires an accurate approach into a rock-surrounded green. Another plunging downhill drive is needed at the short par-4 14th. The three-hole closing stretch brings water dangerously into play on each hole; the falls, giving the course its name, appearing alongside the challenging par-4 17th.

Inevitably, the front-nine doesn't quite hit the dramatic heights of the back-nine. However, Tom Weiskopf has ensured that every hole on this desert layout will test and probe your golfing skills, while the thrills and spills of the back-nine will remain long in your memory. With real estate beginning to flank several of the front-nine holes (although not too intrusively), the hope is that it maintains a more limited presence on the stunning back-nine.

Did you know?

Lake Las Vegas Resort is a 3,952-acre residential, golf and resort destination, surrounding a privately-owned 320-acre lake with a 10 mile shoreline. Resort accommodation includes two top-quality hotels (by Westin and Hilton) and world class spa facilities. The resort's MonteLago Village offers visitors and residents a variety of retail shops, restaurants, a casino and residential condominiums.
What was intended as a premier golf destination now includes the public-access Reflection Bay and private SouthShore courses. The Falls course is now closed, and the addition of a fourth course (Rainbow Canyon designed by Tom Fazio), did not materialise.
The Reflection Bay course became well known to golf fans as the home of the Wendy's 3-Tour Challenge (see our Tournaments section >by Venue >Lake Las Vegas).
