Eagle Creek Golf Club, Orlando: Although laid out as part of a residential development, this is undoubtedly one of Orlando's most enjoyable and well-rated courses. Always well maintained and presented, comprising two nine-hole loops, the course is distinctly linksy and Scottish in character, open and exposed to the wind when it blows through here.
The nicely mounded, good-width rolling fairways are excellently bunkered. In abundance are the traditional links-style sod-faced revetted bunkers; these fiendish "pots" are often deep and penalising. You will usually enjoy plenty of width to drive the ball, but your approach play and short game will need to be good to score well. The large, excellent quality, undulating greens will thoroughly test your putting skills. The pleasant environment at Eagle Creek is accentuated by its natural setting of woodland and open brush. Much less in evidence is relatively discreet housing.
Pick of the holes: the par-3 8th with a deep, revetted bunker guarding the right side of the green and a more expansive sand trap on the left side; the par-3 11th which combines deep greenside bunkers with a large sandy waste apron, and the par-5 18th, a great risk reward hole combining excellent bunkering and a water hazard to cross in front of the green.

Scottie Scheffler: narrowly missed out on matching Nelly Korda’s three-in-three, when he placed second at the Houston Open. This followed back-to-back wins at the Arnold Palmer Invitational and The Players. Like Korda, he remains comfortably ahead in the official world golf rankings.
