4 km SW of Craighouse, Isle of Jura. From the mainland by ferry to the Isle of Islay (2 hours plus), then by ferry from Islay to Jura (10 minutes).
Ardfin Golf Course: this ultra-exclusive private golf course is located on the Ardfin Estate, the private playground of Australian hedge fund manager Greg Coffey. The stunning seaside course occupies a spectacular setting at the southern end of the Inner Hebridean Isle of Jura.
The layout takes golfers on a wonderfully natural walk along the cliffs on the early holes, then down to the sea in the middle part of the course. Then a reasonably tough walk back up to the top of the cliffs on the closing stretch. Throughout, the generous width fairways offer plenty of encouragement to big-hitters, while the scenic splendour of sea and land, rugged coastline and neighbouring islands, is simply jaw dropping.
Stay&Play at Ardfin: luxury onsite accommodation available, see Where2Stay section below.
Private club - guests can only play if hosted by a member or if staying in the onsite accommodations.
Within the Ardfin Estate grounds, stately Jura House is available on an exclusive use basis, while The Quadrangle (converted farm buildings) offer luxury two-bedroom apartments. A wonderful Stay&Play opportunity, for those with deep pockets!

Walker Cup: the 50th playing of this prestigious men’s amateur event sees the GB&I go head-to-head against the defending USA team at Cypress Point Club, California (Sept 6-7). After that, all eyes turn to Bethpage State Park on Long Island, NY, where the American and defending European professional teams engage in the 45th Ryder Cup (Sept 27-29).
Lottie Woad: 21-year-old Woad burst onto the professional scene in July, with wins in the Women’s Irish Open (as an amateur) and three weeks later in the Women’s Scottish Open (as a professional). She nearly picked-up a major championship, placing third in The Evian in the same month.
Pádraig Harrington: the ever-likeable Irishman added the (British) Senior Open Championship title to his stellar array of tournament successes. His win came on Sunningdale’s spectacular Old Course. Harrington had already bagged the U.S. Senior Open title in June this year.
