Empordà Golf Resort (Forest course): Previously comprising 27-holes, the addition of a further nine in 2004 gave Empordà the ability to create two 18-hole championship layouts - the Links and Forest courses. The Forest layout (originally the Blue and Yellow nines) meanders through tranquil pines, while the Links course (originally the Green and Red nines) is an open links-style design, played among threatening lakes and rolling dunes.
Many of Von Hagge's trademark features are incorporated into these well-crafted and challenging courses. The Forest layout winds through a traditional Mediterranean pine forest that protects golfers on days when the wind is up. From the tee there are several tightish drives to make, while a handful of holes are also protected by water hazards, especially on the Blue-nine.
All four of Emporda's nine-hole loops are well-maintained and offer pleasant views onto surrounding hills, with the Pyrenees in the distance. A relatively new onsite Hotel & Spa makes this an ideal Catalonian Stay&Play venue.
Visitors welcome on weekdays and weekends.

The Emporda Resort, with its two championship golf courses and onsite hotel, sits in a flattish area of arable farmland, just below the River Ter. Although its headwaters are in the Pyrenees, the River Ter is also fed by smaller rivers and streams in the middle and lower plains.
Spain: 34th best course in Spain (Golf World, 2022).

Céline Boutier: with many successes as both an amateur and professional golfer, Boutier added a major championship title to her impressive résumé at this year’s Evian Championship.
Alex Cejka: buffeted by rain and high winds, especially on the high-scoring final day, Čejka prevailed over Pádraig Harrington in a playoff at Royal Porthcawl, to scoop the Senior Open Championship title.
Marco Simone Golf & Country Club: With a clubhouse that might befit a Roman Emperor, and a golf course to match, you can be sure of a memorable outing at Rome's most talked about golf facility.
Jim Fazio's original layout was much changed to create a modern Ryder Cup course ... now one of the Eternal City's (and Italy's) most revered.
