FROM HUA HIN centre, take Soi 56 (Hua Hin Tansamai), cross the railway and then canal, and follow signs for approx 10 km to golf course. FROM ROUTE 4 (Cha Am-Pranburi Bypass Road), heading south, turn left at the Black Mountain GC sign, which comes approx 4 km before the Hua Hin/Pala-U junction.
Black Mountain Golf Club: Upon its arrival in 2007, this exciting and scenic newcomer to golf in Thailand, quickly established itself among Thailand's top courses. The original East-North nines, were later joined by the West-nine loop of holes. Surrounded by jungle-clad hills on three sides, the "open" side of the courses offer views to far-away mountains.
The original East-North layout fits neatly into a natural bowl, which creates plenty of elevation change and dramatic contouring. Here you will discover many innovative design features as well as several holes demanding good course management. These "shot-maker" holes are balanced with many others where you can rip-it with the big timber, find your ball and recover your par with a well-hit approach shot.
The layout includes a few partly blind tee and approach shots, but nothing as demanding or as numerous as found on the average British seaside links.
On the North-nine loop (the original layout's back-nine), two short par-4s offer tempting risk-reward opportunities. The North's 7th, is the only hole on the course to traverse the base of the mountain, the others run in a more or less straight line from the clubhouse to the mountain and back again. The 8th (North) requires a lay-up drive to a postage stamp fairway, before crossing water to the green ... there's also the option to drive the green, a 374-yard downhill larrup from the back tees!
Although there are several slopes within the East-North routing (the West-nine is flatter), none are overly steep or demanding. This allows golfers the opportunity to walk the course, even if the heat and humidity compels most to take a buggy. A smattering of real estate on one side of the North course is not detrimental to the splendour of the views, which are created by the course's unique position at the foot of Black Mountain.

Black Mountain's exciting golf course and very stylish clubhouse are the inspiration of Swedish investor Stig Notlov. This might explain why nordic languages are to be found on the club's menus and website.
The Club is committed to supporting professional golf in Thailand and around the world. Black Mountain sponsors a number of touring pros including Thailand’s number one golfer Thongchai Jaidee, as well as up-and-coming youngsters like Jazz Janewattananond.
