Happy City Golf Resort & Spa

3-star: Good course – an enjoyable test for your game.

Est. 2012

Happy City Golf Resort & Spa: Located in Thailand's most northerly province of Chiang Rai, the Korean-owned resort of Happy City is home to a 29-hole locally designed course. Comprising the Lakeside, Mountain Breeze and River courses, the addition of an extra hole on the Lakeside and Mountain Breeze courses allows the resting of two holes on a rotational basis. On all three nines your game will be constantly challenged by the presence of water in the form of man-made lakes and ponds.

The Lakeside-nine (holes 1-10) requires the most accurate shot making of the three nines. Water comes into play on eight holes of this challenging risk-reward layout, with the 60-yard green at the par-3 7th shaped like the Korean peninsula.

The Mountain Breeze-nine (holes 11-20) features the most elevation change, while also offering wonderfully scenic vistas and a host of strategically placed bunkers. When on the greens it's worth remembering that putts tend to break away from the mountains.

The River-nine (holes 1-9) was created in a natural river valley. The signature par-3 4th hole features an island green with a backdrop of picturesque mountains. Like the other two nines, lots of water and plenty of doglegging holes will challenge your game.

Lottie Woad: 21-year-old Woad burst onto the professional scene in July, with wins in the Women’s Irish Open (as an amateur) and three weeks later in the Women’s Scottish Open (as a professional). She nearly picked-up a major championship, placing third in The Evian in the same month.

Pádraig Harrington: the ever-likeable Irishman added the (British) Senior Open Championship title to his stellar array of tournament successes. His win came on Sunningdale’s spectacular Old Course. Harrington had already bagged the U.S. Senior Open title in June this year.
