Heading south from Chonburi, follow the Bangkok-Chonburi motorway (route 7) for 45-50 km, and then take route 36, direction Rayong. After approx 17 km turn right at traffic lights onto route 3376, direction Ban Chang. After 6 km golf entrance is on your left.
Silky Oak Country Club was the third addition to the St Andrews 2000 group of golf courses. It sits directly alongside the famous St Andrews 2000 layout, and to the east of the Rayong Green Valley Country Club course. The name Silky Oak comes from a native Australian tree (grevillea robusta), much planted throughout the course.
Silky Oak did not attract the attention of a big name overseas designer, but was instead the creation of the St Andrews 2000 staff. It offers golfers a supposedly easier-going examination than its siblings, with wider fairways in some places and larger greens to aim at. You'll still need a decent short game to score well on this out-and-back layout.

Good
Silky Oak CC is named after a tree native to the east coast of Australia (Grevillea robusta), which has been planted throughout the golf course. It is not closely related to true oaks (Quercus). Silky Oak (sometimes called silk oak or Australian silver oak) was once widely used for window frames, given its resistance to wood rot.
Rayong Green Valley, St Andrews2000 and Silky Oak share the same clubhouse, in which you will find a spectacular variety of international cuisine available, including Thai, Japanese, Chinese, German, Italian, and more.
