Thai Country Club

4-PLUS: Must play course - excellent standard; worthy of 4½ stars.

Est. 1996

Thai Country Club: Regularly voted amongst Thailand's top five, this renowned golf oasis is home to a classic and always immaculately presented parkland layout. The iconic lakeside clubhouse (which in fact sits in the lake), provides another reason why golfers never tire of this award winning club. The facilities are top-quality throughout; even the club logo oozes class!

There's not too much to see beyond the course boundary, and the layout itself is neither overly dramatic nor endowed with any elevation change ... on any of the holes. But Denis Griffiths' handsome layout is one of great charm, with the right amount of golfing challenge to ensure amateur and professional golfers alike relish their next visit.

With attractive palm trees lending good definition to most holes, and plenty of small lakes and ponds also in play, the easy-on-the-eye design creates a sense of balance and harmony ... that may rub off on your golf. From originally flat terrain, the pleasantly rolling earthmounds, contoured fairways and often elevated greens create a modicum of undulation.

The fairway and greenside bunkering is superb; not overly deep, with each smooth line and curve carefully sculpted. Wayward shots from the tee are generally findable, although the clinging semi-rough will make your next shot just that bit more difficult.

Amongst the elegantly crafted holes are some of particular note. The long par-3 6th over water is the signature hole, while the par-5 14th is as handsome as they come. Also resplendent to behold is the fabulous clubhouse, which stands surrounded by water betwixt the 1st tee and 18th green - one of the most memorable clubhouses in Asia.
