Industry Hills (Zaharias)
Industry Hills Golf Club (Zaharias course): This tranquil hilltop oasis, surrounded by the hustle and bustle of sprawling urban Los Angeles, but not intruded on by any housing, is home to two excellent and renowned championship courses. The Eisenhower and Zaharias, better known as the Ike and Babe, transport you back to an era when parkland layouts required skilful shot-making and good course management.
Although slightly shorter than the Ike course, the Babe demands accuracy from the tee if you want to hit the tightish, pleasantly undulating, tree-lined fairways.
From the opening holes you will enjoy spectacular views and plenty of elevation change, before descending to the lower section of the course, stretching from the par-4 3rd through to the dog-legging par-5 11th. Here, classical parkland features are complemented by palm-fringed water hazards, particularly around the greens of the par-4 3rd and 5th holes.
The driving lines are often quite tight, especially on the shorter par-4s, while the very long par-3 7th hole, a mere 300 yards from the tips, will require both power and accuracy to get you anywhere close to the green.
Like the Ike course, there are many stylishly created holes in this layout, not least the par-3 13th and 17th holes, which both make good and testing use of the same small lake. Although many would regard the Ike as the No.1 course at Industry Hills, you'll find many members who just can't wait for that next opportunity to tee it up on the Babe.

Excellent
The "Babe" course pays tribute to Mildred "Babe" Didrikson Zaharias, considered one of the finest athletes and women golfers of all time. A personal friend of Dwight D. Eisenhower, the "Babe" is a perfect complement to Industry Hill's "Ike" course.
The 18th hole on the Zaharias course finishes alongside a funicular railway that once transported golfers back up a steep incline from the 18th green to the clubhouse and Resort facilities. At the top of the incline is the "St Andrews Station", now an excellent cafe and halfway house for the Ike course, offering spectacular views onto the San Gabriel Valley and Mountains.
