The Dunes Golf & Beach Club

5-star: Fabulous – courses don’t get much better than this.

Est. 1948

The Dunes Golf & Beach Club is home to a top-rated championship golf course, regularly rated the best in the Myrtle Beach area. Located in the heart of this famous golfing Mecca, the clubhouse is set against a backdrop of the Atlantic Ocean, while the two nine-hole loops both head inland away from the beach.

The constant presence of water, largely absent on the front-nine, makes for an intimidating start to the back-nine. The dog-legging par-4 11th and long par-3 12th are flanked on the right by the expansive Buck Island wetland preserve, while the very testing par-5 13th hugs the side of Lake Singleton.

Jones's deftly crafted parkland layout provides a wonderful test for your all-round game, with many attractive, skilfully crafted and challenging holes to enjoy. Although largely private, the Dunes Club allows limited access to its tee sheets for a few fortunate guests wishing to experience this defining Myrtle Beach layout.

MOST MEMORABLE HOLE: Each hole at The Dunes has its own descriptive name, giving golfers an idea of what to expect before they tee off. The signature hole, the par-5 13th is aptly called “Waterloo. This legendary hole brings Lake Singleton into play from tee-to-green as it sharply and very curvaceously doglegs left to right around the lake.
