North of Jacksonville, leave Interstate-95 at exit 373 and head east on the A1A/200. After 11.2 miles turn right onto Amelia Island Parkway. After 3.4 miles turn right onto Amelia Road. After 1 mile go straight across at traffic light onto First Coast Highway (A1A). After 4.2 miles turn right into Long Point Drive. Clubhouse is on your left.
Amelia Island (Long Point)
Amelia Island Resort (Long Point course): Located at the southern end of Amelia Island, the Amelia Island Resort (and members Club) is home to the Long Point and Oak Marsh courses. Previously the stable also included the Ocean Links course (now closed) and the Amelia River course (now a separate club).
Wrapped into Tom Fazio's excellent Long Point layout are two testing, back-to-back oceanside par-3s. This testing par-3 duo starts with the 15th, played to a nicely elevated, pudding bowl green. The 16th requires a tee-shot to a sunken green, and provides a chance to admire one of the Island's best beach and coastal views. In keeping with the Oak Marsh course, Long Point also boasts several challenging holes played beside open, expansive marshland. This scenic wetland habitat eventually connects with the Amelia River, somewhere in the distance.
Long Point has a wonderful mix of straight and dog-legging holes, some quite tight, others more forgiving, and many played through tree-lined corridors of oak, pine and palm. Water also enters the mix, not least at the excellent par-5 6th which skirts a good-sized pond en route to a well bunkered green.
If you're limited to one round on Amelia Island, but tempted to sample the full array of tree-lined, lakeside, ocean-side and wetland golf that the island offers, then Long Point may be your preferred option. But worth noting, it's also much favoured by the Club's members ... and tee-times are harder to arrange than on the Oak Marsh course
The Resort's latest golf addition is the 10-hole Little Sandy course, which comprises par-3 holes ranging from 30 to 125 yds. The new short course makes use of the lakeside 7th, 8th and 9th holes that were previously part of the Pete Dye-designed Ocean Links course (now closed).

North Hampton
Sony Open in Hawaii: played at Waialae Country Club near Honolulu, the Sony Open takes over the spotlight from The Sentry as the PGA Tour’s calendar-year opening event (Jan 15-18). The Sentry (not being played in 2026) was formerly known as the Tournament of Champions, with a field typically restricted to golfers who won a PGA Tour event in the previous calendar year.
Dubai Desert Classic: the DP World Tour’s first Rolex Series event of 2026, is contested for the 37th time (Jan 22-25). First won by Englishman Mark James in 1989, it now boasts a four-time winner, Rory McIlroy. Played on the Emirates Golf Club’s Majlis course, this once desert-surrounded course is the long-time flagship for Golf in Dubai.
Our visit last month included two rounds at Golf de Chantilly, one of France’s most prestigious clubs.
It offers two superb layouts: Le Vineuil, a five-star championship course with a rich history, and Longères, an excellent four-star course that provides a strong and enjoyable test.
The wider Paris region offers plenty more. Courses such as Fontainebleau, Golf de Saint-Germain, and several other top-rated layouts make this area one of Europe’s most rewarding golf destinations, offering a mix of woodland, heathland, and parkland designs.

Here at Prince’s Golf Club you'll find 27 excellent holes of links golf. Just over the fence and sharing similar terrain is Royal St George’s; but Prince’s is far from overshadowed by its venerable neighbour. The three nine-hole loops at Prince's, laid out over gently undulating terrain, are sure to bring a smile of satisfaction to all lovers of links golf.
