DeBary
DeBary Country Club is located three miles off the Interstate Highway (I-4) near Deltona, and equidistant between Orlando and Daytona Beach.
This handsomely crafted and attractive course is routed through a residential development, while retaining a pleasantly natural feel for much of the layout.
The housing, which lines both sides of many holes, is kept discreetly tucked-away behind plenty of tall pines, oaks and smaller bushes. Water is only in play at the close of each nine-hole loop, with the 9th and 18th arriving back at the clubhouse, their respective greens flanked by a small, fountain-adorned lake.
With water not too much in evidence, and an absence of penal rough, large and expansive bunkering provides the principal hazard. Added to this are one or two tightish drives to be made, although generally the rolling, tree-lined fairways are spacious enough from the tee. Many attractive holes occupy pleasantly undulating terrain, with tall pines providing an impressive backdrop to several holes.
Defended by imposingly large bunkers, the greens are often small, round and full of subtle breaks and borrows. With its attractive collection of well-bunkered par-3 holes, DeBary sets up to provide a fair and enjoyable golfing challenge.
Visitors welcome on weekdays and weekends.

The city of DeBary sits to the east of the Lower Wekiva River Preserve State Park, where the Wekiva River flows into Florida's largest river, the St Johns. This vast Wekiva River wetland area, with its many blackwater streams, is home to black bears, river otters, alligators, wood storks and sandhill cranes. The State Park is open to the public.

Lottie Woad: 21-year-old Woad burst onto the professional scene in July, with wins in the Women’s Irish Open (as an amateur) and three weeks later in the Women’s Scottish Open (as a professional). She nearly picked-up a major championship, placing third in The Evian in the same month.
Pádraig Harrington: the ever-likeable Irishman added the (British) Senior Open Championship title to his stellar array of tournament successes. His win came on Sunningdale’s spectacular Old Course. Harrington had already bagged the U.S. Senior Open title in June this year.
