Reynolds Lake Oconee (Great Waters)
Reynolds Lake Oconee (Great Waters course): Great Waters is generally recognised as one of Georgia's top-rated golf courses and a very good tree-lined parkland layout. The layout begins with a parkland-style front nine, through rolling hills and thick forests. The short par-4 ninth hole is the first of the lake holes, with water creeping in on the right side of the green. The back-nine is a completely different experience with eight of the final nine holes touching the lake. A must play if you are in the area.
Spread around the extensive lakeside and residential development of Reynolds Lake Oconee are 117-holes of golf, contained in five public-access courses and the members-only Creek Club course. A second private course is planned/in development and will be known as the Richland Club.
The Reynolds Lake Oconee courses have been designed and crafted by a veritable Who's Who of great course architects, including: Jack Nicklaus (Great Waters), Bob Cupp (The Landing and The Preserve), Tom Fazio (27-hole National course), Rees Jones (The Oconee), Jim Engh (Creek Club) and Pete Dye (Richland Club).

Excellent
Recognised for its natural beauty and riverside forests, the Oconee River has provided a family retreat for over 100 years. Many families quickly decided to "linger longer," turning one-or-two day visits into three-four-or five day family retreats.
By 1982, the river had become Lake Oconee, and Reynolds Plantation, now known as Reynolds Lake Oconee, was founded. It has evolved into a globally recognised resort, community and club, with six golf courses, nine dining venues, four full-service marinas, swimming pools, 21 miles of walking and biking trails, a world class fitness and tennis club, and The Ritz-Carlton Hotel at its centre.
2019/20 Golf Digest rating: 94th best public course in the USA and 16th best course in Georgia.
