Makena
Makena Golf & Beach Club: after a period of closure from 2013 as a public-access Stay&Play golf resort, the facility was relaunched in the early 2020s as a private beach front golf community. The community includes the existing championship golf course (refurbished), but without a resort hotel (which was demolished in 2018).
The original golf experience at Makena involved two 18-hole layouts, the North and South courses. With the closure of the higher ranked South course in 2008, the surviving North course remained a well-rated and pleasantly testing layout. However, it too was closed (in 2013) pending a major redevelopment program for the whole site. The redevelopment included the renovation and reopening of the North course, as a private members-only course.
Limited access: this private course is generally playable only by members and their invited guests.
Private club; visitors/guests may only play if hosted by a member.
Non-metal spike facility.

Lottie Woad: 21-year-old Woad burst onto the professional scene in July, with wins in the Women’s Irish Open (as an amateur) and three weeks later in the Women’s Scottish Open (as a professional). She nearly picked-up a major championship, placing third in The Evian in the same month.
