5-star: Fabulous – courses don’t get much better than this.

Prince Golf Course at Princeville: GOLF COURSE WAS CLOSED IN 2015 for a major renovation As of Jan 2024 it remains closed. Some online reports suggest that after renovation, the Prince course could reopen as a private members-only facility.

The renovated Princeville Makai course has currently taken over the mantle as the "must play" course at Princeville.

[Original Where2Golf description]: The Princeville Resort is home to two 18-hole championship golf courses, the highly-ranked Prince course and the also well-rated and popular Makai course. The Prince course is one of the top-rated and finest championship layouts in the Hawaiian Islands, frequently regarded as THE best.

The excellent tree-lined and open parkland course contains a wealth of wonderfully crafted, memorable and challenging holes. Definitely a course that will challenge your all-round game, and well worth going out of your way to play.

The Prince course is named after Prince Albert Edward Kauikeaouli Leiopapa A Kamehameha (1858-62), only son of Hawai’i’s King Kamehameha IV and Queen Emma. The young Crown prince and heir apparent to the throne of the Kingdom of HawaiʻI, was the godson of Britain's Queen Victoria. He died aged four, most probably of appendicitis.
