The Architects Golf Club is home to a well-rated and always popular golf course. This tree-lined and open parkland layout should not disappoint, with many attractive features and several excellent holes to enjoy. Plenty of golfing challenge, a well-crafted design and usually good upkeep all contribute to the appeal of this course. One to include on your play list if you are in the area.

The 18-holes at The Architects were designed by Stephen Kay and Ron Whitten "in the style of" golf architecture's great and good. The holes are not copies of any existing famous holes. They are crafted to honour, and to some extent reflect the style of the following 18 legendary designers: Old Tom Morris (hole 1); Charles Blair Macdonald (2); Hugh Wilson (3); Devereux Emmet (4); Walter Travis (5); Harry Colt & Charles Alison (6); A.W. Tillinghast (7); Seth Raynor (8); Donald Ross (9 & 15); George Thomas Jr (10); William Flynn (11); Charles Banks (12); Alister MacKenzie (13); Perry Maxwell (14); Dick Wilson (16); Stanley Thompson (17) and Robert Trent Jones (18).

Ryder Cup: Rome plays host to the first ever Ryder Cup to be staged in Italy, with the USA defending golf’s greatest team trophy at Marco Simone Golf & Country Club (Sept 29-Oct 1).

Solheim Cup: also in September, also in southern Europe, the 18th Solheim Cup will be contested at Finca Cortesin on the Costa del Sol, with Europe defending after their surprise win in Toledo, Inverness Club (Ohio) in 2021 (Sept 22-24).
