Heatherhurst Golf Club (The Brae course)

4-star: Above average course - well worth a visit.

Est. 1988

Heatherhurst Golf Club is home to two of the five championship courses available for play in Fairfield Glade, a resort and retirement community located on the Cumberland Plateau in eastern Tennessee. Heatherhurst's 18-hole Brae and Crag courses were both designed by Gary Roger Baird and opened in the late 1980s. The Brae was created by pairing-up the Creek and Mountain nines from the original 27-hole course, and is usually the higher rated layout. The Crag took the third nine from the original layout and nine new holes were added in 2000.

The Brae course is a well-rated and always popular layout. This tree-lined parkland course should not disappoint, with many attractive features and several excellent holes to enjoy. Plenty of golfing challenge, a well-crafted design and usually good upkeep all contribute to the appeal of this course. The front-nine provides the most challenge, not least with the double-doglegging 4th hole, considered one of the toughest par-5s in Tennessee. The undulating fairways and encroaching bunkers guarantee a challenging and scenic round. One to include on your play list if you are in the area.
