The Bluffs - Grand Ho Tram

5-star: Fabulous – courses don’t get much better than this.

Est. 2014

The Bluffs, Grand Ho Tram (formerly known as The Bluffs, Ho Tram Strip): this top-rated seaside links course is laid out in a natural duneland area of "links land" between the sea's edge (a couple of hundred yards away to the east. A large area of wooded hinterland lies to the west. Alongside The Bluffs course, sits the Grand Ho Tram hotel and casino resort.

Facing out onto the South China Sea, and almost but never quite beachside, Greg Norman's pure links design has won many plaudits. The ever-present rugged sandhills stand in sharp contrast to the green flowing lines of this rolling rollicking layout.

True to great links golf, water plays very little part in proceedings, apart that is from the East Vietnam Sea ... a scenic backdrop to many holes. Also making their presence felt, are good-width undulating fairways, beyond which lies a mix of exposed and partly bush-covered sand dunes. Further linksy reminders come from the square-cut tee-boxes, threatening bunkers and a fabulous collection of par-3s. Thankfully, there's very little if any real estate to be seen.
