Where2Golf says:

Pennard Golf Club is home to a wonderfully open and inspiring links golf course. Set well above the sea, the layout is a bit hilly, but not too difficult to walk, and is full of tight humps, bumps and hollows. Only the greens provide some flattish relief, several of them nestling down in slightly more sheltered folds in the terrain. Wind-protecting vegetation is very limited, just a few lonely gorse bushes scattered around.

Not uniquely in the UK, you may occasionally come across some of the local livestock (horses and/or cattle), who have grazing rights on this land, their presence simply adding to the timeless authenticity and natural beauty of this marvellous course. A few marker posts are needed to help guide your way - although at the blind-drive par-5 17th, you'll also benefit from a good helping of local knowledge as this very "technical" hole snakes its way to the elevated green.

Throw in a 12th century ruined castle, stunning coastal views onto Oxwich Bay and the Gower Peninsula, and a generally rugged, beautiful and dramatic environment, and you've all the ingredients for a highly enjoyable and memorable round of golf.

Did you know?

The fairway of the short par-4 7th hole runs alongside an impressive ruin, a Norman castle dating back to the 12th century. The wall between the 7th and 8th holes, is part of a church that ceased to function in the 16th century and is now an integral part of the course.
