Edward Windsor, was a very keen golfer and major patron of the sport for many years. In 1936, while Club Captain of Walton Heath, he had a most interesting year - he started it as HRH The Prince of Wales, later becoming King Edward VIII, and then choose to abdicate and finished the year as the Duke of Windsor - Club Captain longer than he was King!
