Lee enjoyed an excellent amateur career, which included several months as the world's No.1 women's amateur golfer in 2014. She relinquished that No.1 amateur status upon turning professional in 2014 aged 18.
Lee's younger brother Min Woo Lee is also an accomplished professional golfer. Both won their respective U.S. Junior Amateur championships, making them the only brother-sister pair to win these prestigious junior titles.
