Born in Long Island, New York, DiMarco moved to Florida with his family when he was aged seven. In High School DiMarco got into golf in a serious way, and later as a University of Florida "Gators" golfer became an All-American in 1988, '89 and '90.
After turning professional in 1990, DiMarco went on to top the Candian Tour Order of Merit in 1992. He earned his PGA Tour card for the 1994 season. It was not until 2000 at the age of 32 that DiMarco recorded his first PGA Tour win. Two further PGA Tour wins followed in 2001 and 2002, while in 2006 he captured the prestigious Abu Dhabi Championship on the European Tour. Following two Ryder Cup and two Presidents Cup appearances in the mid-2000s, DiMarco's career slowed somewhat, partly based on a chronic shoulder condition that required surgery.
