Five Forts Golf Club

3-PLUS: Good course - several memorable features; worthy of 3½ stars.

Est. 1985

Five Forts Golf Club (formerly known as the St George's Golf Club): this short but immensely scenic par-62 course was laid out by the great Robert Trent Jones Snr. After a lengthy period of closure starting in 2008, the course was reborn and relaunched as Five Forts in 2021.

Although a tad short at 4,436 yards from the tips, Five Forts offers a scenic and challenging golf course with lush green expanses and breathtaking ocean views. With five historic forts on St George's Island, the signature hole plays down to the seashore and in the direction of Fort St Catherine, the largest fort in Bermuda.

Stay&Play at Five Forts: luxury onsite accommodation available, see Where2Stay section below.

Lottie Woad: 21-year-old Woad burst onto the professional scene in July, with wins in the Women’s Irish Open (as an amateur) and three weeks later in the Women’s Scottish Open (as a professional). She nearly picked-up a major championship, placing third in The Evian in the same month.

Pádraig Harrington: the ever-likeable Irishman added the (British) Senior Open Championship title to his stellar array of tournament successes. His win came on Sunningdale’s spectacular Old Course. Harrington had already bagged the U.S. Senior Open title in June this year.
