Chacarra, playing on a sponsor's invite, recorded his first European-DP World Tour win in his ninth start on the Tour. [DLF G&CC, New Delhi, India].

Played as the inaugural St Andrews Bay Championship (Aug 24-27; Asian Tour event). 23-year-old Eugenio Chacarra (Esp) beat Matt Jones (Aus) with a par at the 10th sudden-death playoff hole (par-5 18th), the longest playoff in Asian Tour history. Chacarra recorded his first ever 72-hole professional win. [Torrance course, Fairmont St Andrews, Fife].

Played as the inaugural LIV Golf Invitational Series (Bangkok) (Oct 7-9; LIV Golf event; 54-hole 48-player no-cut individual event with $4 million first prize, and accompanying 4-player team event for $3 million first prize). [Stonehill GC, Pathum Thani, nr Bangkok, Thailand].
Individual event: second-placed Patrick Reed (USA) finished 3 shots behind 22-year-old Eugenio Lopez-Chacarra (USA), who recorded his first professional win, while bagging the $4 million first prize. Lopez-Chacarra turned professional in 2022 expressly to join the LIV Tour; he had been the world ranked number two male amateur golfer, and at the time of the win was the world ranked number 2,756 male professional golfer.
Team event: second-placed Crushers team (Bryson DeChambeau, Paul Casey, Charles Howell III & Anirban Lahiri) finished 7 shots behind the Fireballs team (Sergio Garcia, Abraham Ancer, Carloz Ortiz & Eugenio Lopez-Chacarra), who shared the $3 million team first prize.

Women’s (British) Open: the last women’s major championship of the season is hosted by Royal Porthcawl GC. It’s the first time this fabulous seaside links course has hosted the event (July 31-Aug 3).
Walker Cup: the 50th playing of this prestigious men’s amateur event sees the GB&I go head-to-head against the defending USA team at Cypress Point Club, California (Sept 6-7). After that, all eyes turn to Bethpage State Park on Long Island, NY, where the American and defending European professional teams engage in the 45th Ryder Cup (Sept 27-29).
Lottie Woad: 21-year-old Woad burst onto the professional scene in July, with wins in the Women’s Irish Open (as an amateur) and three weeks later in the Women’s Scottish Open (as a professional). She nearly picked-up a major championship, placing third in The Evian in the same month.
Pádraig Harrington: the ever-likeable Irishman added the (British) Senior Open Championship title to his stellar array of tournament successes. His win came on Sunningdale’s spectacular Old Course. Harrington had already bagged the U.S. Senior Open title in June this year.
