Played as the Wyndham Championship (Aug 4-7). Second-placed John Huh (USA) and Sungjae Im (S Kor) finished 5 shots behind 20-year-old Joohyung "Tom" Kim (S Kor), who recorded his first PGA Tour win. Kim, not yet a full member of the Tour, shot a final round 61 (-9). He became the second youngest winner of a PGA Tour event since the Second World War, after Jordan Spieth who bagged the 2013 John Deere Classic aged 19 years 11 months. Joohyung "Tom" Kim (S Kor) beat Rattanon Wannasrichan (Thai) with a 14-foot birdie putt at the first playoff hole (par-5 18th), to record his second Asian Tour win. [Tampines course, Tanah Merah CC, Singapore]. Note: this was the penultimate event of the Asian Tour's curtailed 2020/21 season, which was extended into Jan 2022 due to the global coronavirus pandemic.

Sadom Kaewkanjana (Thai) was second with $378,972; Wade Ormsby (Aus) was third with $270,153. Kim was the second youngest golfer to win the Asian Tour Order of Merit, after Seungyul Noh, also 19 and a month younger, won it in 2003. Second-placed Seenappa "S" Chikkarangappa (India) and Shiv Kapur (India) finished 1 shot behind 17-year-old Joohyung Kim (S Kor), who recorded his first Asian Tour win in his sixth start on the Tour. Tour rookie Kim became the second youngest Asian Tour winner, after Chinarat Phadungsil (Thai). Event reduced to 54 holes due to smog on the first day. Sony Open in Hawaii: played at Waialae Country Club near Honolulu, the Sony Open takes over the spotlight from The Sentry as the PGA Tour’s calendar-year opening event (Jan 15-18). The Sentry (not being played in 2026) was formerly known as the Tournament of Champions, with a field typically restricted to golfers who won a PGA Tour event in the previous calendar year.
Dubai Desert Classic: the DP World Tour’s first Rolex Series event of 2026, is contested for the 37th time (Jan 22-25). First won by Englishman Mark James in 1989, it now boasts a four-time winner, Rory McIlroy. Played on the Emirates Golf Club’s Majlis course, this once desert-surrounded course is the long-time flagship for Golf in Dubai.
